Fractal emptiness
When I lose the sense of my identity as a self, I also tend to lose my sense of relatedness to the more-than-human world. When I am inwardly empty, I also experience the world around me as empty, dried up, dead, disenchanted. The two experiences of emptiness are two sides of the same state of impoverished relation to life. To enchant the world, I can start by reconnecting to my sense of identity.
