it‘s not a project, it‘s an organism.

I work with some people on the topics I write about within a research institute. Some may call us a project. We call ourselves an organism. An organism is „a complex structure of interdependent and subordinate elements whose relations and properties are largely determined by their function in the whole“. Our work is determined by our relationships, to ourselves, other humans, and non-humans. Our function is our shared intention.

An organism can grow organically and something beautiful can emerge. A project and it‘s famous SMART-goals leave no room for emergence. In society we need more organisms and less projects.
